Steffen List, a graphic designer and frontman of Namibian band Tonetic will be creating a soundscape for the performance, based on the choreography. He has an unrivalled sensitivity and intelligence when it comes to creating sound and having a supporting soundtrack will elevate the whole performance. He brings a true mystery with his soulful, dark tones which perfectly complements the character of anima.
Willem Vrey has a wonderfully unique way of working and has fast built a reputation as one of our most exceptional and experimental photographers. He has a way of capturing movement that is alluring and enchanting and contributes to the art of dance: his photographs speak. Willem will photograph the process from inception to performance as well as providing photographs for publicity and marketing.
Lize Ehlers is one of Namibia’s most talented and celebrated female recording artists and has a long creative history with First Rain Dance Theatre. She will be adding her formidable vocal talents to the anima arsenal.
Shishani Vranckx barely needs an introduction; she is one of Namibia’s most popular musical exports and has come to be recognised both locally and internationally as an inspiring musical talent. Along with Lize Ehlers she will be contributing her considerable vocal talents to the performance of anima.
Lila Swanepoel is an up and coming film maker with an exceptional eye for detail and is the creator of the haunting anima trailers. We will collaborate with Lila to capture anima visually and transform it into its next artistic incarnation: a dance film.
Taati Sibolile, a dynamic and driven young designer with a great vision for her fashion label: Taati Sibolile Maison, has breathed life into the visual aspect of anima through the design and creation of tailor made costumes.
